When old negative accounts finally fall off, your score can fluctuate because some old accounts carry a long age history. So if your age decreases by a lot of years, then your score can drop temporarily until you add tradelines. Also, you have to make sure you are not maxing out your credit cards, getting new negative accounts reported, or getting new late payments during the process as these things cause score drops as well.
